Kingdom Hearts fans were promised big things at D23 Expo this weekend and Square Enix delivered. Disney officially purchased Pixar in 2006, just after the release of our last mainline Kingdom Hearts game. Previous looks had revealed Tangled, Big Hero 6, and Hercules as some of the Disney domains you'd visit over the course of the story.
Disney and Square Enix debuted new Kingdom Hearts 3details at this year's D23 conference.
The universe of Toy Story will be apart of Kingdom Hearts 3 and will see Woody, Buzz, and potentially others teaming up with the likes of Goofy and Donald Duck.
A new trailer of the action showed Final Fantasy characters fighting in an animated suburban environment that comes out of the Toy Story world. And since Disney owns Pixar, the teams have made a decision to add Pixar characters such as Woody and Buzz Lightyear to the next game.
The game has been confirmed as scheduled for release in 2018, for PS4 and Xbox One.
