UCLA has been vulnerable against the run thus far this season and on Saturday will need to find a way to slow host Memphis, which displayed a dominant rushing attack in its season-opening win.
The UCLA Bruins did battle with the Memphis Tigers on Saturday. Rosen was able to drive the Bruins into Memphis territory, but was intercepted for the second time in the game. Those were two of quarterback Riley Ferguson's four touchdowns.
For UCLA, the play resulted in an incomplete pass.
This was a huge upset, especially when you consider the Bruins have an NFL-level gunslinger, Josh Rosen, at quarterback.
Also, Demetric Felton ran for 37 yards notching a score while Bolu Olorunfunmi ran for 32 yards and a score.
Josh Rosen, a potential top pick in the 2018 National Football League draft, had another strong showing for the Bruins with 463 yards through the air and five total touchdowns, including one on the ground. Memphis' Jacobi Francis broke up Rosen's fourth-and-5 pass with 56 seconds remaining.
The Darrell Henderson- Patrick Taylor Jr. duo posted 169 and 132 rushing yards, respectively, combining for three rushing touchdowns.
ABOUT MEMPHIS (1-0): The Tigers have another weapon on the ground in Tony Pollard, who returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown against ULM - setting a school record with the third such score of his career. But after coach Jim Mora called a timeout in hopes of getting the ball back and scoring again, Ferguson found star wide receiver Anthony Miller for a 41-yard highlight-reel catch before hitting Miller again for a touchdown to take the lead back.
