At its September event in California the firm's executives are appearing on stage to demonstrate its latest technologies.
The announcements came at Apple's annual product showcase, held for the first time at Steve Jobs Theater on a new $5 billion campus. The installation process of new watchOS updates take a considerable amount of time and everyone should be well aware of it.
Ten years after introducing the world to the iPhone, Apple is giving its signature product an overhaul. Various leaks have indicated the new phone will feature a sharper display, a so-called OLED screen that will extend from edge to edge of the device, thus eliminating the exterior gap, or "bezel", that now surrounds most phone screens. The X has nearly no bezel and the screen, similar to the design of Samsung's recent Galaxy and Note phones. Dubbed FaceID, it's based around neural networks and machine learning and uses infrared sensors to identify the user's face.
Since the launch of the first Apple Watch, the wearables industry has changed beyond all recognition, thanks to Apple.
The new iPhone 8 will keep its predecessor's size - 4.7 inches - but have a higher starting price of $699, up from $649.
It took about an hour for the presentation to get around to the iPhone, which began with the 8 and 8 Plus (notice at Apple jumped right over the 7S designation.) With a new chip (the A11 Bionic), a Retina display, a better GPU, tougher glass, an upgraded camera (with some insane processing capabilities; the video looks sick!); AR abilities (which can be extended to gaming), wireless charging (using a widely used standard) and louder speakers, Apple is making a compelling argument for upgrading.
The iPhone 8 will feature a 12 megapixel camera, while the 8 plus will include 12 megapixel dual cameras.
The iPhone 8 will start at 64 GB from $699, the iPhone 8 Plus will begin at $799. The original Apple Watch was announced in September 2014 and released in April 2015, while its follow up was announced and released in September 2016, alongside the iPhone 7.
The new version, called Apple Watch Series 3, will use an existing iPhone phone number when making calls, Apple said. This means it can pick-up notifications, calls, and more without being near a phone. With new software and LTE connectivity, the Apple Watch Series 3 also comes with a slew of newly designed watch bands.
Users will be able to add their Watch 3 to their iPhone plan, meaning both devices will share the same number. One without cellular goes for $329, down from $369 for the comparable model now.
Among the new watch's specs: a faster processor, a WiFi chip that allows for a quick and power-efficient connection, and a Siri that talks back (no more reading her text-only response on your watch face!).
Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular starts at $399; in the USA, it will be supported by the big four wireless carriers.
The iPhone X will start at $999 for a 64 GB model and will be available November 3.
Apple has unveiled its new generation of iPhone, the 8 and the 8 Plus. It also comes with... The firm says it has been working with the leading cinema providers and streaming companies to make sure their films and shows are available in 4K.
