A Newark Liberty International Airport terminal was reopened after a suspicious package prompted a partial evacuation of the area Saturday afternoon, officials said.

Police found the device in Terminal A around 4:45 p.m., the source said.

Newark Airport says the package has been cleared, but passengers should expect delays.

The Port Authority Police Department said a suspicious package was discovered on level 3 of Terminal A, the regional terminal for United Airlines.

A bomb squad, along with detectives, K-9 units and firefighters arrived at the scene while travelers were evacuated from the airport, authorities said.

A Port Authority police officer looked into the bag and saw that it "looked like a pressure cooker", the source said.
