Before Dangal, PK was the highest-grossing film with more than Rs 100 crore, while Dhoom 3, despite the Aamir factor, didn't do very well. They are not only eyeing China for their next sojourn but also tapping Japan and South Korean markets with dubbed versions in local languages.
The SS Rajamouli's epic creation Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has been breaking several records and winning hearts.
As per box-office figures, Dangal has earned Rs 1743 crore worldwide, while Baahubali 2 has netted Rs 1530 crore.
The film has total collections of Rs 778. Dangal's lifetime collection in just the Indian box office stood at Rs 387.38 crore.
Dangal was released on 7,000 screens in China, and has become a hot topic for discussion on Chinese social media platforms like Wechat and Weibo.
Apart from U.S. and China, other important markets for Indian films are Australia, Malaysia, South Africa, Dubai and UK.
"I suppose people have loved the film".
Though Dangal has successfully completed its run in India, it is released in China on May 5th, where the film received an enormous response from across the country. He said that the makers are indeed trying to release this flick in China but no one knows the exact release date. So regardless of gross amounts from China, neither the crowdsizes nor the box office returns are going to compensate for Dangal being behind Baahubali's margins across India.
The movie was one of the highly anticipated films after the phenomenal success of the 2015 film "Baahubali: The Beginning".
Then there's the fact that Baahubali 2 hasn't yet even released in China. Post its release, the film has broken a number of existing records and is constantly creating new ones with every passing day.
