Do you really like to know which carrier should you choose to use Mobile Data in the US? The new group they've formed is called the Mobile Authentication Taskforce, and while that name may be a bit silly, the group serves an important goal.

That's why Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T and Sprint are banding together to create the "Mobile Authentication Taskforce", a team who's goal it is to develop a more secure mobile authentication system for customers in 2018. The wireless carrier's latest promotion offers current T-Mobile ONE customers with two or more lines a free standard Netflix subscription, even if you're already a Netflix subscriber.

Another likely factor in T-Mobile's improvement is its aggressive strategy to expand its 4G LTE coverage, the Speedtest report noted.

In a new report covering the first half of 2017, Ookla said the average download speed on USA mobile networks reached 22.7 megabits per second, 19% faster than the same period in 2016.

As per the data revealed in the report, T-Mobile scores 23.17 Mbps, Verizon Wireless scores 21.13 Mbps, At&T scores 20.05 Mbps and Sprint Scores 15.39 Mbps. Upload speeds lagged behind however, averaging just 8.5 Mbps, a 4% improvement from a year ago.

This is an area where the carriers can help. Ookla has shared this report for the first half of this year. For the first half, the USA ranked 65th, Ookla said, just behind Mongolia. They used nearly 3 million unique mobile devices to perform more than 14 million consumer-initiated cellular network tests, meaning they tried out speedtest.net or the app to see how fast their internet is.

However, the USA still only ranks 44th in the world for download speed, right behind Fiji and Germany, and just ahead of Oman.
