"Starting this Friday, September 1 at 10 a.m. PDT you can get your boots on the ground and start playing Call of Duty: WWII during the game's private multiplayer beta, lasting through to Monday, September 4 at 10 a.m. PDT", Microsoft's Mike Nelson writes. "Factors for a player's consideration for the Bronze Star include score-driven events like kills, objectives, and Division skill use". However, as it turns out, the beta went live early.

Activision has announced the Call of Duty: WWII Private Beta is now live on PS4 and Xbox One. For a limited time release starting on August 24 up to August 28, PlayStation 4 players can already try out the beta version of the game. There'll also be new scorestreaks and uniforms, as well as a new game mode.

During a stream with PlayStation, Sledgehammer Studio-Head Michael Condrey stated that new weapons, maps, modes, and much more would be included in the second installment of the Beta, although did not mention every single change included.

"The end of match experience in Call of Duty: WW2 is the celebration of heroic achievement and meritorious service in a combat zone, unofficially known as the Bronze Star", Condrey said.

Divisive timed-exclusivity deals aside, the private multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: WW2 should be the same across both platforms, offering enthusiasts the chance to try out some of the new game's maps, game modes, and guns. PS4 owners were treated to a surprise update just a couple of days after the private beta launched on that platform that increased the level cap and added new guns to unlock, so a similar update may be in store before the beta concludes on September 4th.
