The rollout has been a slow one to say the least, and following Android Instant Apps first going live as "limited tests" back in January, Google has announced that more than 500 million devices now have access to it... Google announced in a blog post that 50 crore Android users can now access Instant Apps in all countries where Google Play operates. Put simply, when tapping on search results from a supported site, a minimal version of the site's app would quickly install and immediately display the content.

Some of the biggest names that have made use of Android Instant Apps include the likes of Vimeo, Jet, Realtor.com, and the NYTimes Crosswords. For example, if you click on a Vimeo link on your smartphone, the link will be opened on Vimeo Google Instant app from the Play Store with the need of installing it and once you are done watching it the instant app will close. The browser checks if there is an instant app available for the website and then loads an app rather than a web page. All the Instant Apps you use will show up in this section. Instant Apps are also beneficial for developers.

"Since our public launch at Google I/O this year, we've been hard at work expanding the number of supported devices and the availability of instant apps, so that users can run your apps instantly, without installation". Post-implementation of Android Instant Apps, its session duration increased by 130%. Jet, a US-based app which provides a shopping platform, has found that their conversion rate increased by 27 percent.
