The multiplayer-focused free-to-play wargame World of Tanks will be expanding with a single-player campaign called "War Stories" in the coming months.

The console version of World of Tanks gets a single-player campaign mode on Tuesday, 22nd August, Wargaming has announced.

World of Tanks originally released in Russian Federation in 2010, seeing enormous success worldwide, which has allowed the developer, Wargaming, to expand the series with World of Warplanes in 2013 and World of Warships in 2015. War Stories lets players blast through fantasy campaigns and alternative histories, including all-out nuclear war ignited by the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. This involves a three-part training mission that covers basic movement, scouting, sniping and an overview on tank armour and performance.

The second campaign, Flashpoint Berlin, follows the attempts of a British solider to break through a Cold War-era Berlin blockade. And all this under downhole music that is composed by three-time BAFTA award victor and author of soundtracks for Fallout 4, Dragon Age: Origins Inon Tzur (Inon Zur). "Players will find themselves on a map, or in an event, or in War Stories" case, a campaign mission that will have a narrative driven by historic facts, but the team like to have fun with it too. Their work includes the highly acclaimed Dark Souls II, Just Cause 3, Terminator, RoboCop and the Dark Horse comic series World of Tanks: Roll Out, which released earlier this year in the USA and Europe.

World of Tanks is on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Climate changes will be even more impacting than previously seen (ie. affecting visibility, strategy and gameplay mechanics). They can utilize cross platform capability no matter which Xbox platform they are using - including voice team chat across all three generations of Microsoft hardware. Founded as a privately held company in 1998, Wargaming has shipped over 15 titles. With 4K output available for Xbox One X and PlayStation 4 Pro players. In 2016, Wargaming released World of Tanks for PlayStation®4, continuing its console campaign.
