So this week Apple ended months of rumours and speculation with the announcement of not just two phones replacing its now year old iPhones, but three, properly celebrating the tenth anniversary of the iPhone with a newly named iPhone X, a model that basically aims to be the one everyone wants, but will of course cost the proverbial arm and leg.
Al Franken of Minnesota chose to put several of them directly to Apple CEO Tim Cook, a day after the company announced that its iPhone X would unlock with Face ID. The company went head-to-head with the Federal Bureau of Investigation over the agency's demand that Apple unlock an iPhone belonging to one of the terrorists behind the San Bernardino, California, shootings.

The company touted the addition of its True Tone display technology as a key improvement to the displays in the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, over the displays in the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

The A11 chip has a "neural engine", optimized for machine learning processing, built directly into it - a dual-core design capable of performing 600 billion operations per second, according to Apple.

Face ID has an uphill climb when it comes to gaining public confidence, thanks to past issues with facial recognition on other devices.
"Apple does FaceID fairly well - local data+secure enclave, etc.", tweeted Zeynep Tufekci, an associate professor in information and library science at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
Should Apple eventually determine that there would be reason to either begin storing faceprint data remotely or use the data for a objective other than the operation of Face ID, what steps will it take to ensure users are meaningfully informed and in control of their data? The new iPhone X has removed the home screen button and has put up a face recognition technology to unlock the iPhone.
Additionally, the much touted iPhone X will be available in India to pre-order on October 27 and it will be available at stores from November 3, 2017, said Brightstar. The iPhone 8 Plus also sticks pretty closely to the iPhone 7 Plus formula, although its Portrait Mode has been improved and should now deliver sharper shots.
"Now, unlocking it is as easy as looking at it and swiping up", Federighi said. These will be availa-ble in stores starting September 29.
Both phones also gain the ability to shoot 4K video at 60fps, which is a first for an iPhone, and shoot 240fps slow-mo clips in full HD. The 32 GB version starts at $179, while the 64 GB model is $199 and up.
