He was put into an air cast on the Florida State sideline and carted off the field.
It would appear that Florida State's worst fears have been realized.
Florida State's only scoring drive was a beauty: 11 plays, covering 90 yards, as Francois completed all six of his passes for 71 yards.
During that span, FSU managed just 51 yards on 19 offensive plays, most of which came in its first series of the second half, an eight-play drive for 27 yards that ended with a sack of quarterback Deondre Francois by Alabama sophomore defensive end Raekwon Davis. Harris' score come one play after junior linebacker Keith Holcombe recovered a fumbled kickoff return by FSU's Keith Gavin that was forced by freshman linebacker Dylan Moses.
The buzz: Granted, they were going against one of the best front sevens in college football, but Florida State couldn't run the ball. Harris finished the game with nine carries for 73 yards. He's clearly not the answer.
Alabama picked off a pair of passes by Deondre Francois in the second half, snuffing out any hopes of a Florida State comeback. The last was a 3-yard TD pass to Auden Tate on a fade route over Tide safety Anthony Averette, a play set up when Francois and Tate connected for a 38-yard gain.
The buzz: After a 9-yard punt by Alabama, FSU got the ball on the Crimson Tide's 31 trailing 10-7 with 4:45 to go in the first half. Jimbo Fisher was upset with a non-pass interference call before the blocked field goal. After a defensive stand, they then drove to Alabama's 20 but had a field goal blocked.
"The defense did a fantastic job, especially in the second half", Alabama coach Nick Saban said. Florida State thought it had the squad to contend again for a national title, but the offense was no match for the Crimson Tide and Francois' injury could be a huge blow. If it is a serious knee injury, the Seminoles are in a lot of trouble. Fisher and FSU have whiffed on a few quarterbacks on the recruiting trail in recent years, which might come back to hurt him. After losing to Alabama, Florida State has little margin of error the rest of the season.
