Local nursing mothers and their babies are invited to join The Global BIG Latch On in Hays Sat., Aug. 5 at 10:30 a.m.in Aubel Bickle Park, 30th and Sherman Avenue.
World Breastfeeding Week, August 1-7, is celebrated every year in 120 countries and marks the signing of the WHO/UNICEF document Innocenti Declaration, which lists the benefits of breastfeeding, plus global and governmental goals.
IN support of the global campaign to promote breastfeeding, SM Cares, in partnership with SM Seaside City Cebu, will be holding The Big Latch On (TBLO) 2017 on August 6 at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu.
Women and their families around the world this week are gathering together to celebrate, promote and support breastfeeding for World Breastfeeding Week.
It has since expanded to become a worldwide event for moms to support each other, and show what breastfeeding is really like. "And so there is a one minute mark and everybody with raise their hands and get their babies latched and it's to help bring awareness to breastfeeding and what moms have to do in their communities to breastfeed and provide milk to their babies".
Breastfeeding is the natural way to feed babies but some mothers or new parent are having a hard time because of some challenges during lactation stage.
Tomorrow's family friendly event is free and open to the public.
