Israeli forces rearrest Khalida Jarrar, bringing the number of Palestinian legislators in Israeli prison to 13.

At least 13 Palestinian politicians are now imprisoned in Israeli jails.

She was previously charged with security-related offences connected to her membership in the PFLP - a leftist political party that Israel considers a "terrorist" group along with a majority of Palestinian political factions.

The Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) described the decision of the Israeli occupation court, on Wednesday, to hold the leader of the Front, MP Khaleda Jarrar, under administrative detention for 6 months, as a systematic Israeli crime against the leaders of the Palestinian people.

At the time, Jarrar accused the Israeli military prosecution of working to keep her in prison as long as possible, adding that she "did not expect anything from military courts".

Jarrar is the 11th member of the Palestinian parliament now in jail, according to the prisoners' club.

Jarrar was heavily involved in cementing the Palestinian Authority's bid to join the International Criminal Court, a PLO spokesperson said in 2015.

The PFLP, in response to Jarrar's arrest, said the detentions "only underline the futility" of the Palestinian Authority's approach towards engaging in a hollow "peace process" and security coordination with Israel.

Israel has said she was arrested for her involvement with the PFLP.

Many of its leaders are in custody and Jarrar has been jailed multiple times. Jarrar serves as the group's political leader.

A number of Palestinian politicians are now detained by Israel.

However, she set up a protest tent outside the Palestinian Legislative Council in Ramallah, where she lived and worked, until the controversial order was overturned later in September that year.

Prisoner rights group Addameer, of which Jarrar is the vice-chairperson of the board of directors, released a statement following her most recent arrest calling for her release.

Prominent Palestinian politician and rights campaigner Khalida Jarrar has been ordered detained for six months without trial by Israeli authorities, who cited her work in a terrorist organization, a rights group said in a statement issued late Wednesday.

At least nine of them are being held without charge under administrative detention, according to the Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies.

"It also constitutes one arrest in the context of continuous arrest campaigns against Palestinians".
