"I outlined to Mr Barnier that our priority is to protect Scotland's vital economic interests and that the Scottish Government will do all it can to build a consensus against an extreme Brexit outside the single market, which would have potentially catastrophic consequences for jobs, investment and our living standards", she said.
Mr Barnier has stressed he will only negotiate with the UK Government.
Hundreds of thousands of children left in limbo over their residency status after Brexit must not be used as bargaining chips in the negotiations, the children's commissioner for England has warned Brussels.
Mr Corbyn criticised the Tory approach to the negotiations, saying: "In contrast to the Conservatives' megaphone diplomacy, we will conduct relations with our European neighbours respectfully and in the spirit of friendship".
The leaders call for the maintenance of previously granted European marketing authorisations both in the UK and the EU and continued cooperation between national authorities as facilitated by the European Medicines Agency and European Commission, and also stress that any changes to the EU-UK trading relationship "should not adversely affect the research, development, manufacture and supply of medicines across Europe, including for clinical trials".
The Labour leader said that while "respecting the referendum result", a "Labour Brexit" would be very different.
But he said the party was seeking a Brexit to protect jobs and would not cut a "sweetheart deal" with the USA which would undermine the Paris climate change agreement and harm living standards in the UK.
"Labour wants to work with other countries to build a different Europe, one which promotes human rights and environmental protections, celebrates the positive and complementary contributions of European nations, and where trade is fair and sustainable".
Nicola Sturgeon and Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones have also held a separate meetings with Mr Barnier, as Theresa May's opponents pushed rival visions of how the departure process should happen.
It comes as Labour set out six conditions for its support for the Government's Repeal Bill, including concessions on workers' rights, incorporating the European Charter of Fundamental Rights into United Kingdom law and limiting the Government's ability to alter legislation without full parliamentary scrutiny.
"This Bill means that we will be able to exit the European Union with maximum certainty, continuity and control. The eyes of the country are on us and I will work with anyone to achieve this goal and shape a new future for our country".
