A NY couple upset over their rising health care costs jumped to their deaths this week, leaving a note that they could no longer pay to treat their medical issues.

Both Mr. Scarpelli and Ms. Colant had suicide notes in their pockets. Early Friday morning, the Senate failed to pass bills to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

Reports did not identify the NY couple who committed suicide due to their rising health care costs.

"Our kids are upstairs, please take care of them".

Colant's note reportedly asked for the couple's children to be looked after.

Added the husband, 'We both have medical issues, we just can't afford the health care'. Screen shot via nypost.

Other details in the case were not immediately disclosed. There was reportedly no mention of medical expenses in the suicide notes.

Javier Guzman said the bodies were still lying in the road when he arrived to work at a nearby shoe fix shop around 6:45 a.m. Scarpelli, 53, was the son of former mayor Joseph C. Scarpelli.

Witnesses told the New York Post they were shocked by the scene.

Referencing the cause of the couple's suicides, NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said, 'We still have to go further'.

According to the Daily Mail, the essay also described how Glenn and Patricia encouraged faith in their children.

After his graduation, Glenn operated the Madison Wellness Center at 171 Madison Avenue, suite 908 in New York City for 27 years.

Family members said Van Dyke warned doctors that he would attempt suicide again, but was still released.

Told the man, 'They're wonderful people, just genuine people. They're always having a great time together'.
