US President Donald Trump today slammed London's Pakistani-origin mayor Sadiq Khan saying it was not the time to be "politically correct", and touted his controversial travel ban in view of the London Bridge terror attacks that killed seven people and wounded several others.
Kishida said a local task force has been set up at the Japanese Embassy in London to deal with the attack's aftermath. Neighbors at the site of one major raid in Barking said a man who lived there resembled one of the attackers shown in news photographs. In March five people were killed in a auto and knife attack near Parliament in London, and two weeks ago 22 people died in a suicide bombing at a concert in Manchester.
The British government has long sought more help from internet companies like Facebook and Google in the battle against extremism.
As dawn broke over the capital, a large area on the south bank of the River Thames remained cordoned off. Police told people to avoid the area, leaving tourists and revelers struggling to get home.
"Egypt renews its call to all countries of the world to unify against the phenomenon of terrorism, and those who back terrorist organizations with support, finance and arms, confirming Egypt's full solidarity with the British government and people in these hard times", said the Egyptian foreign ministry in a statement on Sunday.
French president Emmanuel Macron said on Twitter that "France is standing more than ever side by side with the UK".
Simon Thompson told Sky News that he was just outside Borough Market when he saw crowds fleeing.
Medics treated the injured near the market as shocked people cried and shouted around them. The police asked people to run to a place of safety and hide as the attackers may still be armed and in the area.
Khan said some of the injured were in critical condition.

After one of the men was shot, Sciotto captured a photo of the suspect on the ground wearing what appeared to be the canisters.
Armed police also responded to a stabbing incident in the Vauxhall area, but it is now clear this was an unrelated incident of violent crime. "He hit about two people in front of me and then three behind".

It was the third attack in Britain in the past three months.
Then came the May 22 Manchester concert bombing.
The current terror threat in the United Kingdom is at severe and hasn't been raised to critical. Several days later it was lowered to "severe", meaning an attack is highly likely.
