The cameras that dominated Simpson's trial aren't allowed in Pennsylvania courtrooms, but scores of photographers will be lined up outside the courthouse. For almost four years, Cosby (79) has been under fire, with more than 60 women coming forward to accuse him of drugging and sexually assaulting them, destroying the entertainment career he worked for over 60 years.Constand has charged that the comedian molested her at his home in 2004 following a two-year friendship."I had a flashback", Andrea told police, explaining why she alerted her mother, according to a copy of her entire January 22, 2005 statement to a Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, detective and a Cheltenham Police Department detective.Cosby told her to relax and gave her three blue pills, saying "these will make you feel good".
Cosby is on trial on charges he assaulted Andrea Constand, a former employee of Temple University's basketball program, at his suburban Philadelphia mansion in 2004. "They are over 300 miles away from home, and I understand the rights of free press, but please, let this trial play out".
"We think we really know them", she said.
In 2015, Pulliam was asked by Inside Edition what she thought of the allegations against Cosby. "That man, in that illusion, of all those roles he played on television, that illusion was shattered".
In the bombshell 2006 deposition, Cosby admitted to giving Constand Quaaludes. In fact, Feden quoted Cosby as saying, "these three friends will help you relax". The prosecution started by talking about the key issues in the case drugs, sex, and the issue of consent.
McMonagle took aim at Constand's credibility, focusing on inconsistencies in her accounts to law enforcement officials in 2005.
"I was trying to say something", she said. When she woke up, she said, he put lotion on her hand and forced her to touch his genitals.
Constand instead sued Cosby for sexual battery.
It seemed that all but maybe one of these accusations had passed the statute of limitations and could not be prosecuted.
Feden said Constand will testify, along with another woman who says Cosby drugged and assaulted her in a similar fashion in 1996. And, he says Cosby gave her the pills only after she complained of having trouble sleeping. "And the answer to this question is no".
And, that she changed the date from mid-March to mid-January of 2004.
Addressing the jury - which is made up of seven men and five women - McMonagle said, "Try to be the juror that you would want if it was your grandfather or your father or your son or you sitting over there".
She had also been alone with him prior to the alleged assault, the attorney said, during a visit to his Foxwoods Resort Casino hotel room in Mashantucket, Connecticut. "At a certain point, he invited her over to discuss her career". "You will never see Mr. Cosby under oath running from anything". "A brilliant comedian? A flawed husband whose infidelity has made him vulnerable to these actions?" All I can speak to is the man that I know and I love.
Several Cosby accusers are also in attendance at the trial outside Philadelphia.
"He can't see", McMonagle said. "I am his eyes in the courtroom".
In opening statements, Assistant District Attorney Kristen Feden told jurors the case doesn't revolve around consent.
He said the two had a romantic relationship and that Constand said she wore her hair a "certain way" for Cosby.
Cosby's accuser, Andrea Constand, 44, of the Toronto area, is expected to take the stand this week and tell her story in public for the first time.
Then the two had dinner, sipped "cognac and brandy in front of a fire, romantically", according to McMonagle.
American comedian Bill Cosby arrived at a Pennsylvania courtroom today (Monday) for the first hearing in his sexual assault trial.
"After the so-called paralyzation and drugging and assault, there were 72 phone calls". Evin Cosby, one of his four daughters, wrote an essay defending her dad. "She called him continuously".
