The informal meeting lasted about an hour, with Markle and Prince Harry arriving in a vehicle with blacked-out windows. “In part it was to settle any nerves Meghan might have felt but also to ensure it was not widely publicized within the palace”.
Harry and Meghan went public with their relationship – or perhaps, more apropos, their relationship was made public – about a year ago, but the couple haven’t been spotted together until a few weeks ago at the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry reportedly took his girlfriend of 15 months to Buckingham Palace for a private tea with Queen Elizabeth II, according to reports.
The pair, who have been seeing each other for 18 months after reportedly first meeting at the Invictus Games in Florida, enjoyed the get together in the Queen’s private sitting room. Its two passengers, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, off to meet his grandmother for tea.
While this marks Markle’s first official gathering with the queen, it isn’t the first time she came into contact with her potential future-in-laws.
“She normally sits for half an hour eating from a selection of sandwiches, fruit or plain scones and cake”, Kay said.
Before adding: “The Queen spent nearly an hour with her grandson and the Los Angeles-born Meghan”.
It comes after the news that Markle, 36, quit her job on the television show Suits which some saw as preparation for a move to London to take up royal life.
Meghan recently opened up about the relationship during an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, in which she gushed about her love for her prince. It’s also unclear what the trio talked about, but one would hope that Queen Elizabeth watches Suits when she unwinds-or perhaps she herself has dreams of lifestyle blogging one day.
