Midfielder N'Golo Kante suffered a hamstring injury against Bulgaria as France moved to within one win of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
The former Leicester man was substituted in the first-half of France's World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria with a suspected hamstring injury.
Kante has played an integral role in back-to-back title-winning teams for Leicester City and Chelsea respectively, with his performances last term earning him the PFA and FWA Footballer of the Year awards.
The France worldwide rose to fame with his efforts at Leicester City when the former Caen midfielder helped the Foxes win the Premier League title in the 2015-16 season. "He is the ideal fit for the system Conte has put on the pitch".
Kante has played every minute of Chelsea's Premier League campaign so far this season and was the standout performer as they won the title in the previous campaign.
Chelsea travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League next Saturday before home games against Roma, Watford and Everton in three different competitions.
Primarily known for his ability to win the ball back, he's a major part of Chelsea's setup, in which he shields the defence along with Tiemoue Bakayoko to allow others to focus on creating chances.
The news will be a concern for Chelsea boss Antonio Conte, who is already having to deal without Alvaro Morata.
