TOTTENHAM need to win something this season to keep Harry Kane interested - and away from Manchester United - according to former manager Tim Sherwood.
The 24-year-old signed a new long-term deal with Tottenham during the 2016-17 campaign but Kane continued to be linked with a potential move to Manchester United.
The England global has already scored 100 Premier League goals at the age of 23 as Alan Shearer's record of 249 goals looks under serious threat from the Spurs talisman.
He has played a key part in helping the north Londoners qualify for the Champions League twice in the last two years with a third and second place finish in the Premier League and their next target will be to win the league title.
He told Sky Sports: "I think Danny Rose is the best left back in the country". It's important to give back to the fans and after reading Roxanne and Julian's stories I really wanted to meet them and give them and their families a great day at Wembley.
However, a lot has been talked of how Tottenham pay lower wages than the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United lately and Sherwood has claimed that Kane can only show so much loyalty before he starts looking elsewhere.
The England global, who has been out of action since February, but still ended up on the PFA Team of the Year last season, did express his disappointment with the club's rigid pay system and lack of big-money and big-name signings in an interview last month.
"But that only lasts a certain amount of time. That something might not be the Carabao Cup, it might have to be the league or the FA Cup".
But having been unable to decide on a clear victor, the England worldwide made a decision to select two outstanding candidates and invited both Roxanne Francis, Julian Clark and their guests to watch Tottenham's goalless draw against Swansea last weekend.
The north London side will make the trip to West Ham United in their next Premier League game on Saturday.
