The Yankees filed a report with Major League Baseball two weeks ago, with video showing how the Red Sox's staff were stealing signs from Yankees pitchers to relay them to Red Sox batters. The Red Sox told investigators that team personnel assigned to watch instant replay electronically sent pitch signs to the trainers, who then passed the information on to the players.

"We will conduct a thorough investigation on both sides".

The 2011 Philadelphia Phillies were under a microscope when several MLB clubs complained the team was using binoculars to steal signs, though the NL East club was never sanctioned by the league. The Times reported that the video provided to the commissioner's office shows Red Sox assistant athletic trainer Jon Jochim looking at his Apple Watch, then passing along a signal to outfielder Brock Holt and second baseman Dustin Pedroia, who was on the disabled list at the time.

Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred doesn't have a problem with sign stealing, but the method of how it was done this time is an issue.

The Red Sox have since filed their own complaint, alleging that the Yankees use a camera from their YES Network exclusively for stealing signs.

After a two-week investigation, Major League Baseball went to the Red Sox with the information found.

That electronic device is said to be an Apple Watch, which the team was using to steal signs.

The two teams, historically bitter rivals, are now contending for the American League's Eastern Division title, with the Yankees now 2.5 games behind the division-leading Red Sox. "I can't say much more than that because it's an ongoing investigation", he said. "I've known of it for 40 years, sign stealing itself", Dombrowski said. "No. 2, to the extent that we have them, we'd prefer to investigate them, deal with them privately, and be done with them".

While Red Sox fans and Yankees fans will now begin what I'm sure will be respectful and level-headed debates regarding this incident, if anyone in this situation is to blame it is John Farrell. "I guess it depends how you do it".

"Aware of the rule", he said. The franchise said it is committed to fully cooperate with the investigation, which has been going on for almost two weeks. Manfred implied that they won't be vacating any wins - "Has it ever happened with this type of allegation?" I want to do it quickly, I think it's important we get it resolved.

"No chance", Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.

"I don't think that's video was meant for", Girardi said. They have devised a scheme in which a member of their organization watches catchers to pick up the signs.
