This is a situation which is similar to a year ago in 2016 when NES Classic was out of stock.

By dramatic increase Fils-Aimé could mean that he was referring to the shortage of NES Classic previous year. Nintendo has plans to increase inventory as well as extending production into 2018.

The people who've paid a premium for the diminutive retro system must be feeling a bit silly right now, as Nintendo's announced that it's putting the thing back into production, for release next year.

UPDATE 10.50am: Nintendo UK has now confirmed the NES mini will return to shops here next summer.

Originally launching in November 2016, the Nintendo Classic Mini Famicom was also discontinued this spring, but only temporarily. The re-launch date will be revealed sometime in the future.

Nintendo has increased production of its SNES Classic gaming console, the Financial Times reports. Initially, shipments were meant to end this year. The NES Classic Edition came with thirty games.

The SNES Classic Edition will be available from 29 September for $80.

Remember how hard it was to get the NES Classic Edition when it was launched past year?

Nintendo has made vague promises of more stock for the SNES Classic after its predecessor proved to be near-impossible to find for many.
