White House is yet to comment on the development.
Though the calls had been previously reported, this is the first time the transcripts have been made available in full.
Throughout the call, which occurred seven days after Trump's inauguration, Peña Nieto repeatedly pushed back on the idea of Mexico paying for the wall.
The agreement, hatched with the Obama administration, involved the U.S. accepting up to 1250 refugees held on Manus Island and Nauru, in return for Australia taking asylum seekers from Central America. Perhaps made even more freakish and unsettling because of how common it is for Trump to make freaky and unsettling comments.
Rambling to President Peña Nieto on January 27, Trump confusingly remarked, "We have the drug lords in Mexico that are knocking the hell out of our country".
The transcripts reveal that Trump asserted to the Mexican leader that the building of a wall along the US-Mexico border would be effective, as the security barrier constructed along Israel's border with the West Bank has proven. Why should Mexico pay for the wall?
"You can not say that to the press", Trump flat out told Peña Nieto about the latter's public stance against paying for the wall.
Pena Nieto told Trump: "Let us stop talking about the wall". Naturally, Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers were eager to weigh in on the calls-and both had a lot to say about Trump's off-the-wall statements.
Meyers, who noted that he's from New Hampshire, came to the state's defense: "Don't call it a drug-infested den!" the comedian insisted. Trump won the state in the Republican primary.
"It's not because they're bad people", Turnbull responded. "It's disappointing his mischaracterization of this epidemic ignores the great things this state has to offer".
"Boy, that will make us look awfully bad", Trump said after he announced his ban on travel and immigration from seven-majority Muslim countries which also halted refugee resettlement.
Trump's reference to "local milk people", seemed to confuse social media users, who took to Twitter to guess what he could mean. I think it is a terrible deal, a disgusting deal that I would have never made. "He's like a guy talking to his friend on their way home from a bachelor party", Meyers quipped: "'We can not say we went to a strip club.
"I do not want to have more San Bernardinos or World Trade Centres", he said, according to the transcript.
Speaking to Australia's Turnbull on January 28, Trump became irritated that the United States was expected to honour an agreement made by his predecessor, Barack Obama, to accept as many as 1,250 refugees held in offshore prisons. "This is a killer", Trump said of the public's response if he were to stick with the deal".
United States President Donald Trump is either a modern poet. or a man incapable of speaking without losing his train of thought every 10 words. This is a stupid deal. "This deal will make me look bad". "This is a killer".
"This is going to kill me". I hate taking these people.
"Listen, I know how tough these guys are - our military will knock them out like you never thought of". That is why they are in prison right now. "As opposed to you saying, "We will not pay" and me saying, 'We will not pay, '" he said.
He added: "That is enough, Malcolm".
"I have been making these calls all day and this is the most unpleasant call all day".
"(Russian President Vladimir) Putin was a pleasant call.
To which Mr Turnbull tried to assure the president that they were "not in that league". There's no real conversation or discussion in these calls about the plight of those refugees or immigrants or even broadly about the repercussions for USA relations with either of these countries in terms of their approach to these problems. "We've had reports on both ... the Australian call was well reported".
