However, the pool warning wasn't the only offensive sign aimed at Jews.

Even on the refrigerator in the lounge, a sign hung which stated that the Jewish guests are only permitted to use it during certain hours- between 10:00-11:00 AM and 4:30-5:30 PM. "I hope you understand that our team does not like being disturbed all the time", it said.

"It's very odd. Even the goyim can't understand [why these signs are here]".

She told the Blick newspaper that the apartment hotel now had a lot of Jewish clients, and that other guests had complained that some of them did not shower before using the pool and had asked her to do something.

As for the refrigerator directions, the Algemeiner reports the same representative said use of the hotel's kitchen and refrigerators was a privilege reserved for Jewish guests traveling with kosher food.

Thomann told Blick that because the freezer was in a staff room, she had felt compelled to set times when the Jewish guests could access it to ensure staff could enjoy their "lunch and dinner in peace".

Thomann acknowledged that she "may have selected the wrong words", adding "the signs should have been addressed to all the guests instead of Jewish ones". "I hung it because I saw Jewish guests coming to the pool on Saturday morning, I checked and they did not shower".

Thomann removed the signs following complaints.

Israel's Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely called the signs an "ugly display of anti-Semitism".

Hotovely said Thomann should face criminal charges for writing them.

"Unfortunately, anti-Semitism in Europe is still a reality and we must make sure that the punishment for incidents such as these will serve as deterrents for those who still harbor the germ of anti-Semitism", she told The Times of Israel.

Thomann has denied accusations that she is anti-Semitic.

"We told her we are Jews and she said that many Jews arrive during this period and gave us everything we need for the baby", The Jerusalem Post reported he said. According to The Jerusalem Post, the father didn't want to address her because they didn't want to start a "confrontation" and noted the contrast between the signs and how they were treated at check in. I mean, quite frankly, I've been to these events, a lot of the KKK guys with their hats off look like they're from the cast of "Seinfeld." .

In October 2016, a hotel in southern Germany faced a backlash on social media after an Israeli tourist claimed the facility canceled his booking over his nationality.

Before they took off for vacation, a family from Israel was excited to stay at the Aparthaus Paradies in the Alpine resort village of Arosa, Switzerland.
