Within the text messages, Kesha supposedly tells Lady Gaga exactly what went down, and Lady Gaga responds by telling her friend that the pair should fight back against him and not let him get away with it.
Dr. Luke is now suing Kesha for defamation over sexual assault allegations she has made against him. "That has now been accomplished", her lawyer, Orin Snyder, said yesterday. Dr. Luke denies the claims, saying that the singer was "like his little sister" and that he would never do such a thing to her. Now the singer has signed a deal to "appear for a deposition pursuant to [Luke's] subpoena in this action, during the month of September".
Luke's lawyers filed paperwork to subpoena Gaga in court after the pop star publicly supported Kesha in her sexual assault case against Dr. Luke. Officials reasoned that Sony Entertainment was still permitting Kesha to release her music without Dr Luke's involvement, and that while Kesha claimed she was abused for a decade, "she gave only two specific instances of physical/sexual abuse".
Gaga will also "produce unredacted copies of certain of the documents that were previously produced in redacted form".
Lady Gaga has agreed to help Kesha in her battle against former record producer, Dr. Luke.
Her willingness to comply with Luke's requests are an about face. A specific date and time have not yet been determined, but all parties are supposed to agree on a scheduled date by Saturday.
"Dr. Luke's team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga's role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests", Gaga's spokesman said. In March, she appeared on the Los Angeles radio station 97.1 AMP and alluded to Kesha's abuse without specifically calling out Dr. Luke. "I just want to stand by her side because I can't watch another woman that went through what I've been through suffer".
