"Does [Trump] order his spine on Amazon Prime?"
The former staffer didn't have an answer for why it took so long to name the responsible parties, however.
Colbert ended the interview asking the Mooch if he had any regrets about his time at the White House. "But here's one thing that's not hard to express: Nazis are bad".
This led Colbert to ask why Scaramucci thought the president would "shank a softball like that so hard" with his comments on Saturday rather than just condemning "the people who were there to start violence".
"Why do you think he didn't do that?"
During his appears on the show - his first major TV appearance since being removed from the Trump's team - Scaramucci was shown a picture of himself and former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus glaring at each other at the White House. Really, we're supposed to feel bad for a guy because he gave up his billion dollar lifestyle to be the most powerful man in the world?
It was a pretty awkward interview.
A multi-talented and respected host, writer, producer, satirist and comedian, Colbert is well-known for his previous late night show, "The Colbert Report", which concluded on Friday, Dec. 18, 2014. There was a lot of in-fighting. For openers, Colbert noted it took President Trump two full days to utter a clear condemnation of hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan, Nazis, white supremacists and the like. He told Colbert that, if it were his decision, he would fire Bannon, suggested that Bannon may be the source of White House leaks, and added that he does not like his "toleration" of white supremacists. "It's something that should be completely and totally intolerated [sic]". "I find it disgusting and reprehensible and I will denounce it every living day of my life". Last Wednesday, Colbert touted his upcoming "exclusive interview" with Scaramucci, but as Page Six later reported, the former hedge fund manager apparently agreed to several "exclusive" interviews, including his initial sit-down with Stephanopoulos on Saturday.
"When you take a job like that, Stephen, you know your expiration date is coming", Scaramucci said. "I think he respects bluntness and he respects candor". "I didn't think I'd last too long, but I thought I'd last longer than a carton of milk". "I appreciated the oppty".
