The Nigerian national women basketball team, D'Tigress, continued their winning streak with a brilliant quarterfinal display at the FIBA Women's AfroBasket Championship in Mali.
The girls pushed their opponents harder in the second quarter and at half time, they were up by 23 -12.
Nigeria will now be seen as favourites to go all the way as they await the winners of the Mali versus Egypt quarter-final in the semi-finals.
D'Tigress are yet to lose a game at the biennial continental competition and are on course for their third crown but when they take on an in-form Malian outfit, it will be a battle not just for a place in the Final but for bragging rights.
The 2017 AfroBasket also serves as a qualifying tournament for the FIBA Women's World Cup.
D'Tigress will play the victor of the match between host country, Mali, and Egypt for the semi final.
The semi-final victory brought to seven the number of matches the coach Sam Vincent- tutored girls have won without any loss in Mali.
Evelyn Akhato, U.S based Dallas Wings sensational player contributed 21 points, 11 rebounds and two assists to lead the scoring chart.
