That's right, Bandai Namco has just announced that they'll be releasing an all new Tekken game for Android sometime soon.
Similar to other mobile fighters, Tekken will be collectibles-heavy, with multiple forms of currency to purchase characters, upgrades and special moves.
Tekken Mobile has just soft-launched in Canada, but it does not feature the same level of controls as you know from before.

The game is simply titled "Tekken" and will launch for Android and iOS devices. Everyone else can pre-register for the game to download as the game rolls-out to more countries.
The good news is that Tekken Mobile looks to contain a lot of content for the player to explore. "Battle through a map-based campaign featuring unique encounters and specialized and powerful bosses". Those who invest time in the story mode will be awarded special gear and the opportunity to take on unique challenges only found in this mode Mode. As more players sign up to download the game (which you can do here), more tiers of rewards will unlock, culminating in the release of a secret character exclusive to the mobile version of Tekken. While I'm sure plenty of you 90's fighting game fans will be overjoyed with this announcement, the question remains, how will Bandai Namco monetize this mobile version of their popular franchise? Tekken mobile will feature "Story Mode missions, online versus battles in Dojo Challenge and rotating Live Event challenges!".
