With just 11 laps complete, the rains began to fall at Daytona International Speedway during the Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 for the NASCAR Xfinity Series. After a wait of more than an hour, the sanctioning body postponed the race until noon on Saturday.
Blake Koch and Ben Kennedy will lead the way when the race re-starts, but Daytona can scramble things quickly and probably will.
The resumption of the race will be broadcast live on CNBC.
The threat of inclement weather held off for much of the day, but a shower hit the 2.5-mile track seven laps into the Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 (NBCSN, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Friday's event is the 15th of 33 scheduled races for the XFINITY Series this season. Plus, with a green racetrack now assured, the re-start could be wild.
