"This totally contradicts worldwide law".
The Kremlin has never been in touch with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya who met a group of U.S. President Donald Trump's associates a year ago, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.
Putin has not yet taken any decisions on retaliatory measures, Peskov said.
Russian Federation cannot tolerate this situation for long without taking reciprocal measures, said the spokesman, adding that Moscow, at the same time, expects Washington to show political will and "rectify the violations of worldwide law".
"But at the same time we expect that in the end our colleagues in the USA will finally show some kind of political will to rectify the violations of global law which they admitted".
"I will leave it without an answer", Peskov said, replying to a question on whether or not Trump had paid attention to this issue during the meeting with Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit on July 7.
U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov will meet next Monday in Washington to discuss the seized compounds.
In December, then-President Barack Obama ordered the seizure of two Russian diplomatic compounds and the expulsion of 35 Russians over what he said was their involvement in hacking the 2016 United States presidential election campaign.
