Four foreign soldiers were injured when the Afghan soldier opened fire on foreign troops in Mazar-i Sharif, an Afghan military spokesman told CNN.
An Afghan soldier opened fire inside the facility, a spokesman for the Afghan army's 209th Corps said.
Earlier last week, three USA soldiers were killed when an Afghan commando suddenly opened fire in the midst of an operation against the Islamic state. The Taliban claimed responsibility for that attack. He said reports claiming the soldiers had been killed were false.
"At this time, we can confirm there are no USA or NATO Resolute Support fatalities", the mission said in a statement.
USA troops and other North Atlantic Treaty Organisation personnel have been forced to contend with so-called "Green-on-Blue" insider attacks throughout their occupation of Afghanistan, as Taliban supporters and Afghan patriots within the security forces have turned their guns on their European and US colleagues.
After more than 15 years of war the Taliban control broad swaths of the country and the struggling Afghan security forces continue to take an nearly unsustainable amount of casualties as they battle to hold provincial capitals.
In the meantime, the lawmakers of the Lower House of the Parliament said they will once again hold talks with the protesters in a bid to resolve the issue. Since 2001, more than 2,000 American troops have been killed in combat and noncombat roles in the country.
