In a mini-tweetstorm Friday that combined references to alleged unfair treatment of his spokespeople and the firing of FBI Director James Comey, President Trump raised the possibility of canceling regular briefings with the White House press corps.
THE White House is facing criticism for a possible security breach after it allowed a Russian news service photographer into the Oval Office to take photos of President Donald Trump and a pair of senior Russian officials.
"I think the process is going to move quickly because nearly all of them are very well-known, they've been vetted over their lifetime essentially", he said.
"They've been vetted over their lifetime essentially".
Mr Trump said the administration is looking at "outstanding people.very well known" and will come to a decision quickly. Comey is said to have declined the pledge, but offered Trump that he would be "honest" with him.
The White House has said Comey's firing was unrelated to the Russian Federation probe.
Former FBI Director James Comey declined an invitation to discuss Tuesday an investigation into US President Donald Trump's campaign and Russian Federation before the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Virginia Senator Mark Warner, a leading lawmaker of the Democratic Party.
For a President who baselessly accused his predecessor of illegally wiretapping him, that Mr Trump would suggest that he, himself, may have engaged in such conduct is staggering.
The 49-year-old Mr McCabe, a career FBI agent, has taken part in a number of high-profile investigations, including probes into the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 and the attacks against USA installations in Benghazi, Libya in 2012. Now that he is no longer head of the FBI, and therefore not leading an investigation into anything, he also theoretically has some time to sit down and chat with the Senate Intelligence Committee about their own probe into any possible collusion between the Kremlin and the Trump campaign.
Comey confirms that the FBI is investigating alleged ties between Trump's election campaign team and the Russian government.
The President and his spokesman later refused to say whether he tapes exchanges with his visitors, something that Mr Trump was suspected of doing when he was in business in NY.
One of those being interviewed is Republican Senator John Cornyn, the second highest-ranking member of the Senate and a former Texas Attorney General.
He also cast doubt on White House claims that Mr Comey had lost the confidence of his staff.
The FBI director also dismisses the president's tweets alleging that Obama ordered Trump Tower to be wiretapped during the election. It has been reported, too, that Trump sought repeated oaths of loyalty from Comey, despite the fact that his role is supposed to be independent and non-partisan.
Trump fired James Comey, the bureau's previous director.
Last week, the White House repeatedly changed its tune about the firing - and the President's suggestion on Friday that he may have recorded conversations with Comey has led to comparisons to President Nixon.
The decision is subject to confirmation by the U.S. Senate, where Republicans have a majority.
"I'm not saying it any way", Trump said. But while the threat of impeachment is, for now, merely talk, it's prompted questions about what the process of removing a president from office entails and whether there would be another election should Trump actually be impeached.
Trump and Pirro made headlines in March when the president urged followers on Twitter to tune into Pirro's March 25 show.
In an interview with United States media, President Trump also accused him being a "showboat" and a "grandstander".
