In the past Battlebox configurations relied exclusively on Intel processors, this was mostly because AMD's Bulldozer-based CPUs were not good enough for top of the range work. It looks more accessible than before (not only top-end) and there will be two Battlebox categories going forward; the GeForce GTX Battlebox Ultimate PCs, and GeForce GTX Battlebox Essential PCs.
Sure, you can probably build similar PCs for less if you don't mind rolling up your sleeves, but there's a lot to be said for just opening the box and gaming on rigs like these.
Nvidia's GeForce GTX Battlebox Ultimate turns things up a notch with a minimum spec of: Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 CPU with a GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, 16GB of system RAM, along with an SSD for storage again (of course, there will be options to add larger hard drives for more space).
GeForce GTX Battlebox Ultimate - get battle-ready with the ultimate gaming machine, whether you're a first-person marksman or an eSports professional.
According to Nvidia's official blurb the new Battlebox specifications "give people everything required to upgrade their gaming experience: the best GPUs, CPUs, Memory, and screens all created to work seamlessly for the smoothest, easiest PC experience ever". Such a setup will "bring you an incredible experience - every time", insists Nvidia. Gear up and play like the pros. Battlebox Ultimate is ideal for those looking for VR Ready rigs or wanting to enjoy games in stunning 4K.
For the GeForce GTX Battlebox Essential PCs we predictably move down the hardware ladder a rung or two. The recommended rig for today's top games like Overwatch and League Of Legends. Next-gen GeForce GTX graphics card deliver 1080P at 60 frames per second.
