President Donald Trump has once again stoked the flames of war and this time he did it while surrounded by a room full of military leaders.
"You guys know what this represents?"
Trump told reporters as he posed for a photo with First Lady Melania Trump, military officials, and their spouses before a White House dinner Thursday night.
"Maybe it's the calm before the storm", Trump replied to inquiries from the press, according to pool reports.
As President Donald Trump met with his highest ranking USA military leaders and their spouses for dinner Thursday night, he said the moment could represent "the calm before the storm".
When reporters asked what he was talking about, Trump replied, "It could be, the calm, the calm before the storm".
"What storm Mr. President?" another reporter shouted.
During those remarks, the president also appeared to issue a vague threat toward the regime in North Korea, which has antagonized the United States president with a series of nuclear and ballistic-missile tests.
The White House has not yet clarified what the president intended by his "calm before the storm" remark.
"You'll find out", he responded.
Trump said "tremendous progress" had been made with respect to the Islamic State group, adding, "I guess the media's going to be finding out about that over the next short period of time".
The president is now deciding whether to decertify the Iran nuclear deal brokered by the Obama administration. Trump grinned mischievously and waved his hand in a semi-circle as the military leaders flanked him.
