OAKLAND, CA – OCTOBER 17: Ryan Anderson #33 of the Houston Rockets and Draymond Green #23 of the Golden State Warriors go for the ball during their National Basketball Association game at ORACLE Arena on October 17, 2017 in Oakland, California.

The Rockets offense remains vital against the Warriors.

“Somebody said we don’t take defense seriously”. “Well, obviously (the Warriors) don’t take it seriously either”.

“We looked exhausted”, Kerr said.

They can breathe a little better now. We want to be a good defensive team, but when you play against guys like that, you better be able to score the ball. We were isolating. We weren’t playing our style of basketball. “We were able to do both”.

Late in the third quarter of Tuesday’s season-opening loss to Houston, Green was fouled on a running jumper and landed awkwardly.

Of course, D’Antoni’s team benefited from the Warriors failing to finish the game with their top two defensive players.

He finished with 9 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists in 28 minutes. A former second-round pick out of Michigan State, he averaged 10.2 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in 2016-17 to help the Warriors win their second title in three years. “I’m fine”, before adding this caveat: “I hope it’s not a big deal“.

Golden State Warriors forward Jordan Bell is expected to draw the start if Draymond Green (knee) can’t suit up against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. “I don’t think we’re in good enough shape yet to play against a great 48-minute team”.
