The actress said Weinstein grabbed her by the arm and paid for a vehicle to take her away from the hotel.
After Weinstein’s room key didn’t work, Headey claims that he put her in a taxi and warned her to not “tell anyone about this, not your manager, not your agent”.
“I felt completely powerless. I got into my vehicle and I cried”, the British actress wrote on Twitter.
Lena has been inundated with siupport since she chose to share her story with fans and followers, with one Twitter user writing: “This is heartbreaking”.
She also spoke of an earlier incident at the Venice Film Festival when Weinstein made a “suggestive comment” to her which she laughed off. I was genuinely shocked. Headey says she immediately “laughed it off”, joking that “it’d be like kissing my dad”. “Let’s go get a drink, get back to the others”.
Headey said her next encounter with Weinstein came years later in Los Angeles.
“The next time was in L.A., years later”. “I believed that he respected my boundary and maybe he wanted to talk about potential work”.
Assuming her initial rejection meant he was unlikely to make a second advance towards her, Lena found herself stunned when she met him for breakfast and was cajoled up to his bedroom. During a lunch at his hotel, Headey said Weinstein started to probe Headey about her love life, but she shifted the conversation to business as much as she could.
“He went to the loo”.
“We walked to the lift and the energy shifted”, she recalled. Nothing is going to happen’. “I don’t know what possessed me to speak out at that moment, only that I had such a strong sense of don’t come near me”.
The actress said Weinstein was “silent” and “furious” as they walked towards his room.
He angrily walked her back to the elevator, “holding tightly to the back of my arm, ” she wrote.
After marching her out to the vehicle park, Lena recalls Weinstein telling her not to tell her manager or agent about their exhange. “Not your manager, not your agent.’ I got into my auto and cried”.
The fresh allegations follow several made by actresses in the U.S. against Weinstein – four of rape and more than 30 of sexual harassment – and come after his British wife Georgina Chapman said she was leaving him.
