After learning the pedestrian’s condition had deteriorated to unstable, Winnipeg police officers returned to the scene to reconstruct the collision Tuesday afternoon.
Later that day, another Winnipeg police officer was arrested in connection with a separate fatal crash.
The Independent Investigation Unit has requested the Manitoba Police Commission appoint a civilian monitor into the investigation.
The IIU is responsible for investigating all serious incidents involving police officers in Manitoba. Police are now investigating the crash.
She said more details would be released on Wednesday. The woman alleged, on her way to hospital, that the officers had assaulted her.
No charges have been laid.
