California Highway Patrol, Marin have made an arrest after a pickup truck appeared to drive into a group of four cyclists this morning in unincorporated Marin County and all four cyclists went to hospitals.

The driver of a dark blue Dodge Ram pickup “intentionally swerved” into a pack of cyclists, hitting four riders heading in the same direction before he continued west on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road away from the scene, CHP officials said in a statement.

The suspected driver was arrested 12 hours after the incident at a home in Novato, California.

The suspect did not stop, authorities said. One cyclist who suffered “major injuries” was taken by helicopter to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The other three were taken in ambulances to Marin County General in Greenbrae.

The promotion material for the Jensie Gran Fondo of Marin offered a “ProTour level experience”, traveling along “the world class roads of Marin County, with notable views of Alpine Dam, Mount Tam, Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Point Reyes and Tomales Bay”. Your help has proven invaluable yet again. Shortly before midnight, approximately 12 hours after the collision, Marin CHP officers along with members of our Investigative Services Unit placed the driver under arrest.
