A MAN has been rushed to hospital following a horror stabbing attack in Brisbane this morning.

The top of Milton Rd near Caxton St is now blocked off as police investigate what sparked a stabbing in the middle of the road at 4am this morning. He’s been taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.

The man was walking along the street with a friend, and after that, police say a physical altercation occurred with the driver of a auto.

It is understand a male driver and female passenger were making their way down Milton Street in a vehicle at about 4am when they encountered two male pedestrians.

It is not yet known what caused the incident, Inspector Bragg said.

“We’re looking for a small vehicle, there was a suggestion it was a small green Barina, but that’s yet to be confirmed”.

Queensland Ambulance medical director Dr Stephen Rashford said up to 10 staff were on the scene to resuscitate the man.

Portions of Milton Road were closed earlier this morning, and motorists have been advised to avoid the area if possible.
