Police are talking to Paddock’s girlfriend, Marilou Danley, who was in the Philippines during the attack, and investigators plan to question her further when she returns to the U.S. Authorities say they don’t believe that Danley ― now a person of interest ― was involved in the shooting, but Lomboardo said it is still unclear whether she knew Paddock was planning an attack.

So far, authorities have only referred to Danley as “a person of interest”.

According to Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo, Stephen Paddock placed cameras around himself and documented the massacre as he was shooting from his room on the 32nd-floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel.

When Stephen Paddock’s live-in girlfriend returns to the USA after visiting her family in the Philippines, investigators are going to want to know what she knows about a $100,000 wire transfer to an account in her native country.

Law enforcement officials are investigating whether Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock had been planning an earlier attack in the city, a law enforcement source confirmed to CBS News.

She was met in the United States Tuesday evening local time – Wednesday in the Philippines – by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents. Danley’s sister also echoed the sentiment, saying Marilou had no knowledge of Paddock’s plans and that “she was sent away”.

She left for the Philippines a couple of weeks before the Strip shootings, and returned to the country late Tuesday. And we want to ensure that that’s the answer.

Danley and Paddock met several years ago when she was working as a hostess at a Reno, Nevada, casino.

The death toll remained at 58 (59 with the shooter) and injured 489, revised down from the previously announced 500-plus.

“No one can put the puzzles together, no one, except Marilou, because Steve is not here to talk anymore”. “She was away so that she will not be there to interfere with what he’s planning”.

“I know that she doesn’t know anything as well, like us”, one of the sisters, who both asked to remain anonymous, told 7 News in Australia. She flew from Manila to Hong Kong on September 22 and returned to Manila on September 25 before flying to Los Angeles Tuesday.

“She was sent away”.

In other new details, Lombardo said he believed Paddock was a “disturbed” and “dangerous” man who managed to live a “secret life” and he built his stash of weapons without the notice of family and friends, Fox News reported.
