“Oh man fellow comedian and my friend Ralphie May just died”.
The comedian died at a private residence in Vegas on Friday morning where his body was discovered following a cardiac arrest.
Ralphie had been reportedly dealing with pneumonia over the last seven days, but kept performing scheduled gigs.
His death was later confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter.
May came in second place on “Last Comic Standing” in 2003.
The first, Girth of a Nation was released in 2006, Prime Cut in 2007, Austin-tatious in 2008 and Too Big To Ignore in 2012.
May starred in four record-breaking one-hour Comedy Central Specials, two Netflix specials, and most recently he filmed an episode of Inside Amy Schumer. “Condolences to his family and fans”.
“I’m at a loss for words to hear about the passing of comedian Ralfie May”, he tweeted.
The late comedian was married to Lahna Turner, who also does stand-up comedy, from 2005 through 2015. The couple have two children, April June May and and August James May.
