But it appears that the RTM build of Windows 10 version 1709-aka the Fall Creators Update-has just shipped to Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring.

As with all the recent Insider builds, there are not any new features to report, and no specific issues are addressed.

Microsoft has chosen the Build 16299.15 as RTM (Release to manufacture) that will be pre-loaded onto new hardware. If there is another Cumulative Update released then that will start the process over again although Microsoft could choose to just release a Cumulative Update on 17 October when the update becomes globally available as a Day One patch.

If you’re in the Slow ring, you should see this update within the next couple of days, and the Release Preview ring should see some flavor of 16299 pretty soon too.

We have released Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 16299.15 to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring.

Windows 10 build 16299.15 is the last preview build that the Insiders will receive before they move ahead to the Redstone 4 development that is already being tested by those on the Skip Ahead. You can also download official UUP files for Windows 10 Build 16299.15 and can convert it to ISO as detailed in our updated step by step tutorial here.

After you install this cumulative update, hit Windows Key and type: winver and hit Enter.
