At least three security personnel including an army officer were killed and three others wounded in a terrorist attack in the restive southwestern Balochistan province on Monday, officials said, APA reports quoting Anadolu Agency.
According to security sources, armed men attacked an FC convoy in the Murghab area of Panjgur district.
"Three FC personnel died while three others including an officer were also injured during the attack", came as a statement from district management.
The injured have been shifted to local hospital. Security forces cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation to apprehend the culprits but no arrested were made.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri have strongly condemned the attack.
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal also condemned incident and said that anti-state forces fear the effects of CPEC.
There have been numerous attacks on the security forces in Balochistan in the past few months in spite of the FC's increased intelligence-based operations throughout the province. However, the minister and his aides remained unhurt.
