The shambling, craggy-face performer had a decades-long career that included memorable turns in "Pretty In Pink", "The Godfather: Part II", "Alien", "Cool Hand Luke" and many other films and TV shows.
Actor/musician Harry Dean Stanton died peacefully today, TMZ reports, at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
Stanton appeared in Lynch's 1990 film "Wild at Heart" and in 1992's "Twin Peaks: A Fire Walk With Me", although he was not in the original "Twin Peaks" series that aired from 1990-91 on ABC. And he was a World War II veteran, reportedly serving in the U.S. Navy during the Battle of Okinawa.
Harry Dean was a talented musician who sang and played guitar.
Legendary character actor Harry Dean Stanton has died at age 91.
TMZ used to see Stanton frequently at Dan Tana's in WeHo and he was always great to our photogs.
Harry Dean is survived by some family. He was a lifelong bachelor.
