The airline, based in Long Island City, has committed $1 million to transport donations such as drinking water, meals and generators.

But that’s not all. MLB’s contribution is being directed to immediate relief and long-term rebuilding efforts through a variety of organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Project C.U.R.E., The U.S. Fund for UNICEF and more nonprofits to be named later.
Andrew Cuomo on Sunday launched a state effort to help hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico. JetBlue will provide $1 million in flights to deliver supplies and volunteers to the island. More than 700,000 residents of New York City identify as Puerto Rican, along with almost as many people elsewhere in the state, according to non-governmental studies. I am a proud Puerto Rican.

Jennifer Lopez and Mets pitcher Seth Lugo joined Cuomo at the Javits Center in Manhattan to announce several new partnerships created to bring relief to the island nation.
The congressional delegation will include New York Congressional Democrats, Reps.
Each collection site is open from 9 a.m.to 6 p.m. daily.
It also will include efforts from medical professionals to send health care workers from NY to the island and provide support in getting medicine and medical supplies.
