An Altamonte Springs man was killed in a watercraft collision Saturday in Pinellas County.

Information is limited, but FWC officials said the operator of the jet ski was a 52-year-old man whose passenger was a 4-year-old girl. Butz was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, but did not survive. Please keep his wife and their four-year-old old daughter in prayer as she’s in ICU’.

In 2013, Butz was named principal of Pepin Academies, which is a charter school for children with learning disabilities, according to the Tampa Bay Times. It was recently owned by the “Thomas A. Pepin Revocable Trust”.

Mr Butz was friends with WWE wrestler Titus O’Neil, who posted a picture of the pair on Twitter with the caption: ‘My friend Craig Butz passed away last night from a jet ski accident. He was a leader, a champion, and a friend. She is listed in critical condition. “Pepin Academies will have bereavement specialists at the school on Monday to help grieving students and staff cope with this tragic loss”. He inspired countless students to realize their full potential and achieve their goals, both in and outside of the classroom.

It is an active and ongoing investigation, deputies said.

O’Neil asked his followers to pray for Butz’ family.
