With the nation in the grips of solar eclipse fever, Tegna is teaming with The Weather Channel's digital properties to provide nationwide coverage of the event on August 21.
Twitter isn't the only company that will be streaming the eclipse online.
Forecasters at The Weather Channel are predicting sunny skies for the big event.
"We're going to party like it's New Year's Eve", Neil Katz, the Weather Channel's editor-in-chief, said in a statement.
According to NASA, the eclipse will begin at approximately 1 p.m. on Staten Island.
The live stream will feature live footage from Idaho, Illinois, Missouri, Nebraska, Kentucky, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wyoming, and it all kicks off at 12pm EST.
Meteorologists Ari Sarsalari and Demonica Davis will host the Twitter livestream.
The live stream is going to incorporate drone footage, hyperlocal footage, live updates from watch groups, game shows, and even a Red Bull Cliff Diving showdown.
But perhaps the safest option is to watch the eclipse on your computer screen or mobile. Twitter is taking a slightly different approach to the stream. You can also access the stream from The Weather Channel app and website.
In its push to include more premium videos on its platform, Twitter announced that it will live-stream NASCAR in-car camera footage to fans The race organization announced that it will be the first time that 10 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series races will be available for viewing from in-car cameras.
