Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball), the standalone superhero film Silver and Black, which centers on the Marvel comic characters Silver Sable and Black Cat, will hit theaters on February 8, 2019.
Sony also announced its upcoming sequel to Sicaro will be released on June 29, 2018. Silver and Black, the Silver Sable/Black Cat superhero movie directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, will be released in the U.S. 8 February 2019.
Silver and Black was written by Chris Yost (Thor: The Dark World) and though plot details are scarce, it will obviously be about some mix of the two popular Spider-man foes, one of which is a mercenary, the other a skilled burglar.
Meanwhile, the long road for Bad Boys 3 (a.k.a Bad Boys for Life) is set to get even longer. The movie is still on its way, however, with Deadline claiming that "the script is still being worked on and that Will Smith still is interested".
With Sony going all in with Venom and Silver and Black, their path to creating their own cinematic universe is all coming together. While both characters exist in Marvel's Spider-Man universe, Prince-Bythewood's film will not be a crossover with the web-slinger. Although Peter Parker is now fighting alongside the Avengers, these planned spinoff films will remain separate from the MCU. Do you think that Sony is confident in their new spinoffs?
