President Trump has taken time out of his summer holiday to rebut opinion polls that suggest support among even his most ardent fans is waning.
His approval rating was 2 points lower in a CBS poll released Tuesday. Among Republicans, his performance won the approval of 76 percent now in contrast to 84 percent in late June. With 44 percent into the first six months of his presidency in 1993, it was Bill Clinton who had the highest rating.
The polls are a reflection of the fact that Trump hasn't achieved anything that a Republican with a pulse wouldn't have done in his shoes.
