Manchester United have dismissed claims they have agreed a deal for Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier, according to Sky Sports. He has been attracting interest from the Premier League, with the Red Devils believed to be in the driving seat for his signature.
Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho wants Serge Aurier to compete with the right back position with Antonio Valencia at Old Trafford.
The Ivory Coast worldwide has reached an agreement in principle with the 20-time English champions.
The Serge Aurier situation in France is one quite a few Premier League clubs have their eye on right now, with reports of his court case verdict being just around the corner, potentially granting him access to the United Kingdom.
Aurier has also been linked to Tottenham and Inter Milan, but both clubs are unwilling to meet the French club's valuation, and with United reportedly withdrawing from the race to sign the 24 year old, both clubs should step up their pursuit of the former St. Etienne man. He was handed a two-month prison sentence after being found guilty by the French court.
The Blues handler Antonio Conte is said to be seriously interested in the 24-year-old defender and wants him at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Aurier is now banned of entering the United Kingdom after assaulting a police officer, but he has appealed and Chelsea are ready in helping him for the ban to be lifted. Aurier has looked surplus to requirements since the arrival of legendary right back, Daniel Alves at the Parc des Princes and is keen on a move away from the French giants.
